Development
  • The City of Dallas approved a new three-tower development in the Knox-Henderson district. The Knox complex features residential units, hotel rooms, and retail space. Located on the highway side of the development, the tallest tower will be for multifamily living. It could reach 399 ft in height. (Dallas Morning News)

  • The University of North Texas has a new President. Texas Higher Education Commissioner Harrison Keller will succeed Neal Smatresk, who resigned earlier this year after 10 years as the campus president. Keller will officially take office on August 1. (Texas Tribune)

    From North Texas to Paris: These Olympians with ties to Dallas will be competing in the Paris 2024 Olympics

    The Paris 2024 Summer Olympics will start on Friday, July 26. These Dallas athletes will make their way to the world stage to compete against other countries from around the world.

    Sha’Cari Richardson, Track
    Oak Cliff native Richardson won the women’s 100-meter final in Oregon, thus solidifying her spot on the U.S. Olympic Team.

    David Johnston, Swimming
    Johnston, a junior at UT Austin, will compete in the 1500 free.

    Teal Cohen, Rowing
    Cohen recently won the 2024 World Rowing Final Olympic & Paralympic Qualification Regatta.

    Scottie Scheffler, Golf
    This golfer currently holds the spot for the world’s No. 1 Golfer, proving he is definitely one to watch during the Olympics.

    Jaedyn Shaw, Soccer
    This will be the first time the Frisco native will compete for a world championship with the USWNT on the senior level.

    Hezly Rivera, Gymnastics
    Plano local Rivera is the youngest member of Team USA.
