This team is home to some of the most devoted fans in the NBA, and the preseason is right around the corner. Their competitive spirit and passionate fan base make Mavericks games exciting to watch. For the first time since 2017, Dallas is home to the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year.
Paige Bueckers was awarded Rookie of the Year after securing 70 out of a possible 72 votes from a national panel of media members. She joins Allisha Gray as the only other Wings player to win this award.
Bueckers made quite the splash in her WNBA debut. She is the first rookie to average 15+ points and 5+ assists per game on 45% shooting, showcasing her ability as a sharpshooter and playmaker. Further, she is now the fastest player to reach 500 points and 100 assists.
As for the Wings, the season is all wrapped up and they are hoping for better luck in 2026. Until then, check out this Winter Hoop Camp on Saturday, Dec. 20 for young girls inspired by Bueckers.
