🏈 Dallas Cowboys | Est. 1960
One thing Dallasites are going to do win or lose is rep that blue and white. Nicknamed “America’s Team,” The Cowboys have won five Super Bowls and have a rich legacy of players. These players include Emmit Smith, Troy Aikman, and Michael Irvin.
The team has remained one of the league’s most recognizable franchises in history with a notable fan base.
Where they play: AT&T Stadium
- Located in Arlington, TX
- The stadium seats 80,000 people but can accommodate over 100,000 people if reconfigured, making it the largest stadium in the NFL
Mascot: Rowdy
- Rowdy has been the official Cowboy’s mascot since 1996
- Crazy Ray was the unofficial mascot from 1962 until his passing in 2007

🏀 The Dallas Mavericks | Est. 1980
This team is home to some of the most devoted fans in the NBA. Their competitive spirit and passionate fan base make Maverick games exciting to watch. The team is coached by Jason Kidd, who was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018.
Where they play: American Airlines Center
- Mavericks games, UFC matches, and the 2020 Stanely Cup Finals have all been held at the ACC

🏒 Dallas Stars | Est. 1967
Originally known as the Minnesota North Stars, after 1992 the team moved to the Lone Star State. The team changed its name from the “North Stars” to just the “Stars” after the move. Since then, they have had several successful seasons, one being their Stanley Cup win in 1999.

- The Stars games can seat 18,532 patrons
- Located in the Victory Park neighborhood, near downtown Dallas, Texas
Mascot: Victor E. Green
- Green is a fuzzy alien that stands 84 pucks tall and is from a galaxy far away
- Introduced in 2014
Team Colors: Victory green, black, and white
- For the first 20 years in Dallas, the Stars’ jerseys used black as the base color.

⚾️ Texas Rangers | Est. 1961
Interestingly enough, the Texas Rangers weren’t always known as the Texas Rangers. They originally played in Washington, D.C., as the Washington Senators as an expansion team until they moved to Texas in 1971. Since then, The Rangers have made nine appearances in the MLB postseason, winning one World Series title in 2023.

- Has the world’s largest single-panel operable roof
Mascot: Rangers Captain
- Introduced in 2002
- Wears the uniform number “72" in honor of 1972, the year the Rangers moved to DFW

⚽️ FC Dallas | Est. 1996
Based in Frisco, the team was established in 1996 as the Dallas Burn. It was later rebranded into FC Dallas in 2004. The team has played a significant part in MLS since its creation. FC Dallas’ pride rings true in community involvement and fan participation, making it a staple in Texas sports culture.

Mascot: Tex Hooper
- Was born Sept. 6, 1996
- In 2016, FOX Soccer ranked Tex fourth on their list of MLS mascots

⚽️ Dallas Trinity FC | Est. 2023
This is the newest professional women’s soccer team of the USL Super League. The team will play its first game in September at the historic Cotton Bowl at Fair Park. With hopes to showcase their skills and make a strong debut in the USL Super League, the team is eager to capture the hearts of soccer fans across the nation.
Where they play: Cotton Bowl Stadium
- First game will be Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024
- The stadium has continued to host soccer matches, including international friendlies, CONCACAF Gold Cup matches, and other tournaments

🏀 Dallas Wings | Est. 1988
Originally known as the Detroit Shock, the Dallas Wings are one of the first WNBA expansion teams. The team was approved for relocation to the metroplex in 2015 where they play at the College Park Center. The team’s presence has helped played a part in increasing the visibility and popularity of women’s basketball in the area.

- Seats up to 7,000 spectators
Mascot: Lightning
- The mascot is a magic Pegasus whose job is to bring the “electricity” to the College Park Center
- Established on May 20, 2017

🏉 Dallas Jackals | Est. 2020
Dallas’ fairly new rugby team is part of the Major League Rugby, which is the highest level of rugby competition in North America. The team’s mission is to create a family-friendly atmosphere and to inspire values of tradition, respect, family, and character through community outreach. The team was founded on June 5, 2020, but delayed their inaugural season to 2022.
Where they play: Choctaw Stadium
- Venue opened in 1994
- Served as the home for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball from 1994 through 2019
Mascot: Jax the Jackal
- Jax stands tall at 9.5 rugby balls
- The jackal was initially introduced to fans on May 2021
