Development

Dallas-based Kaizen Development Partners began demolition proceedings on the old North Texas Public Broadcasting building in Uptown this week to make room for a luxury mixed-use project called Chalk Hill. Plans include high-end apartments, office space, retail, and green space. (The Dallas Morning News)

Coming Soon

Attention, foodies — Elia Greek Tavern will open in the Bishop Arts District this summer. The Mediterranean seafood restaurant will occupy the former Nora Restaurant and Bar space, serve fusion cuisine, and stay open until 2 a.m. (CultureMap Dallas)

Shop

Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS plans to launch a new store at NorthPark Center. The brand currently operates two stores in Austin and Houston, but this will be the first in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. An opening date is yet to be announced. (WFAA)

Frenchie, a new all-day brasserie + bar by Travis Street Hospitality, is now open in the former Corner Bakery space in Preston Center Plaza. Mosey in soon for lunch and dinner, or wait a few weeks for its breakfast menu to launch. (CultureMap Dallas)

Real Estate

A new senior housing development just broke ground in South Dallas. The Culbreath, named for community leader Betty Culbreath, is expected to open in summer 2027 and will feature 364 affordable units for folks ages 62 and up. (CultureMap Dallas)

Sugar, yes please. Pop band Maroon 5 will stop in Dallas on the “Love is Like” tour on Friday, Nov. 7. Want to snag tickets to the show at American Airlines Center? General sale begins at 10 a.m. tomorrow, June 27.

What’s higher than a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader’s kicks? Their latest pay raise, supposedly. “America’s Sweethearts” will be getting a 400% increase in salary. In 2022, it was reported they earned $15-$20 an hour, while the club’s worth was $9 billion. Follow WFAA’s Paul Livengood for more. (WFAA)
