We know the question on your mind, Dallasites — when is it going to get cool?
Thanks to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’sClimate Prediction Center, we know what temperatures and precipitation trends to expect in our city for the rest of October and November. With today’s cold front to start the season right, here’s a seasonal outlook to help you prepare for what fall will bring.
Temperature
Fall may feel pretty toasty — Dallas is predicted to have temperatures leaning 40-50% above normal this season.
Precipitation
Don’t anticipate too much rainfall — autumn should bring the typical amount of precipitation in the metroplex. Dallas has a 40-50% chance of seeing below-normal rainfall this fall.
Oh hay, October
Dallasites will experience a decrease in the average high temperatures, falling from September’s tropical 87.8°F (31°C) to a moderately hot 76.3°F (24.6°C). An average low temperature of 58.8°F (14.9°C) can be felt during this month.
Hot cocoa November
Winter is coming. This month will be a significant change from October, as temps lower and chances of rainfall decline. The potential for snowfall in November, with an average above 0.04" (1mm) recorded, signals the return of colder conditions to the city. Dallas in November has an average high temperature of 64.6°F (18.1°C) and an average low temperature of 49.3°F (9.6°C).
