Space Cowboy, a new home store in Lower Greenville on Bell Avenue, wants to change the way that Dallasites view decor. “We are all about fun colors and vibrancy. We are definitely not a fan of the color beige,” said co-owner Michael Isaacs.
Picture this: As soon as you walk in, you’re hit with upbeat music, a vibrant embrace from the large storefront windows, and a plethora of uniquely sourced, giftable items.
How did this place come to be, you ask? We got the chance to ask the owners themselves.
How did Space Cowboy get its start?
Issacs and his husband Jeffrey Chatterton opened Space Cowboy in July of 2024 after two years of preparation. The couple had looked at Bell Avenue for a while before their dreams became a reality.
“Me and my husband had a store in New York for five years. Post-COVID we decided to come to Dallas to be close to family and own property. When we were looking around Dallas and looking at spaces, we fell in love with the area,” Issacs said.
Various miscellaneous decor items from ceramic tiki cups and tortilla coasters can be found at Space Cowboy.

What is the overall concept of Space Cowboy?
Both owners want people to feel when they come to the store is euphoria and nostalgia. “I just want people to leave with a smile on their face having found that perfect thing for their loved ones or themselves,” he said.
Space Cowboy has been open in its new spot on Bell since mid-July.
