Milkshake Concepts, the team behind Serious Pizza, is launching Serious Eats on August 2 in Grand Prairie’s EpicCentral. The grand opening will feature live music, games, and giveaways. Casablanca in Bishop Arts District, a favorite for Mediterranean bites and private karaoke, closed temporarily on July 22 for renovations. Exxir Hospitality announced it will reopen mid-September, doubling its size and enhancing its lounge garden, palm bar, and karaoke rooms. (Dallas Observer)

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) launched a pilot program introducing new bus shelters in Dallas, Plano, Richardson, and Garland. Next, the transit provider will release a survey seeking public feedback before the final shelter design is unveiled at the end of 2024. (CultureMap Dallas)

Nic Fink, from an engineer and resident of Dallas, secured his first Olympic medal yesterday in the 100-meter breaststroke. The Paris 2024 Summer Olympics started on Friday, July 26. These Dallas athletes will make their way to the world stage to compete against other countries from around the world.
Sha’Cari Richardson, Track
Oak Cliff Native, Richardson won the women’s 100-meter final in Oregon, thus solidifying her spot on the U.S. Olympic Team.
David Johnston, Swimming
Johnston is a Junior at UT Austin. He will compete in the 1500 free, with a personal record time of 15:02:37.
Teal Cohen, Rowing
Cohen recently won the 2024 World Rowing Final Olympic & Paralympic Qualification Regatta.
Scottie Scheffler, Golf
This golfer currently holds the spot for the World’s No. 1 Golfer, proving he is definitely one to watch during the Olympics.
Jaedyn Shaw, Soccer
Shaw’s roots began in Frisco. This will be the first time she will compete for a world championship with the USWNT on the senior level.
Hezly Rivera, Gymnastics
Plano local, Rivera, is the youngest member of Team USA. She previously won the all-around title in the junior division last year at the U.S. Championships.
