The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is hosting its black-tie Gala on Saturday, Sept. 28. The event will include a concert led by Music Director Fabio Luisi and the DSO with special guest Lang Lang. For the first time, UNT Dallas students will work as paid teacher residents in the Dallas Independent School District. A local roller derby league known as the Dallas Derby Devils has gained a community of supporters since emerging on the scene in 2004. From its beginnings in Chicago in 1935, the women’s derby league has spread throughout the nation, finding itself right here in the metroplex.
A little backstory
As a nonprofit organization and Women’s Flat Track Derby Association member, the Dallas Derby Devils are credited for bringing flat track roller derby to the Big D.

Where do they play? Currently, games are held at the NYTEX Sports Centre. The next game is Saturday, July 20, when The Wrecking Crew faces the Death Row Rumblers. Tickets can be purchased through the website.
