One thing Dallasites are going to do win or lose is rep that blue and white. Nicknamed “America’s Team,” The Cowboys have won five Super Bowls and have a rich legacy of players.

  • The stadium seats 80,000 people but can accommodate over 100,000 people if reconfigured, making it the largest stadium in the NFL

  • Rowdy has been the official Cowboys mascot since 1996
  • Crazy Ray was the unofficial mascot from 1962 until his passing in 2007

  • Dallas’ break from the record heat may last a little longer. After a cold front this past weekend, Dallas may keep experiencing cooler summer temperatures as Hurricane Beryl moves in and keeps temperatures low. (Dallas Morning News)

  • Make sure to mark your calendars for the return of the popular DFW Restaurant Week. Reservations open Monday, July 8, and will feature over 1001 local restaurants. Proceeds from purchases made on the exclusive menus will be donated to the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope. (Dallas Observer)

  • In a $2.65 billion deal, Dallas local retailer Neiman Marcus Group has been bought by Saks Fifth Avenue parent company HBC. The new conglomerate will be called Saks Global. The deal will include Fifth Avenue, Saks OFF 5TH, Neiman Marcus, and Bergdorf Goodman. (WFAA)

  • From Mom’s refrigerator to the Dallas skyline. Crayola’s ‘Campaign for Creativity’ is using DFW billboards to look for three Dallas students from the 1990s and early 2000s, now adults, with artwork made using the popular crayon brand. These pieces will be displayed in museums and galleries across the country. (KXAS)

  • Did you know that there is a toilet seat museum located at the Truck Yard in The Colony? The Barney Smith Toliet Seat Art Museum features the life’s work of Smith’s 1,400 art pieces made out of toilet seats. The museum originated in 1992 in a large garage in his backyard.
