Cool mornings. Warmer evenings. Football all weekend. And pumpkin-spiced everything. Welcome to fall, Dallas.

There’s no time to waste this season with all the u-pick orchards, pumpkin patches, and farms to visit in the DFW area — so let’s have a happy harvest.

Gourd times

Find great pumpkins that would make Charlie Brown envious.

  • Autumn at the Arboretum | Sept. 21-Nov. 3 | Dallas Arboretum | There will be 100,000+ pumpkins here, plus you can read more about other seasonal adventures here.
  • Dallas Farmers Market | Sept. 21-Oct. 31 | The Shed at the Dallas Farmers Market | There are 25 different varieties of locally grown pumpkins to choose from + these gourds are expected to last a bit longer since they didn’t have to travel far before being sold.
  • Pumpkins + Plants | While supplies last | Ruibals Plants of Texas | Score on gourds, pumpkins, and much more without stepping foot on a farm.
  • Pumpkin Nights | Sept. 21-Oct. 31 | Howell Farm | Keep your hands clean and watch the professionals carve 7,500+ artificial pumpkins. Real pumpkins will also be on display.

Avoid long lines at chain coffeeshops and grab a local option instead.

  • B-Side Coffee | The seasonal drink here packs a punch, and it comes with warm spice cold foam on top. Or, switch things up and try the maple cream cold brew, which also feels seasonally appropriate.
  • La La Land | These iced lattes come with clouds of spiced cold foam that’s highly satisfying with the bold brews. Good news for vegans, too — there are other pumpkin options that are dairy-free.
  • Sip Stir Coffee House | Their spiced chai tea latte is great for anyone looking to avoid strong coffee flavors, but still wants in on the seasonal fun.
  • Tribal All Day Cafe | This drink can be completely customized to your preferences, including non-dairy creamers + the option to have it cold or hot.

Fest with the best
