Dips, Daquiris, and (in)Doors: 3 Tips to keep Dallasites from Drying Out

When the 100°+ temperatures start to get to you, here are three ways to stay cool around Dallas — from snow cones to swimming pools.

Two hands cheers drinks by a poolside. One of the drinks is a light pink and the other is an electric blue.

Ahhhh, we feel a little cooler just by looking at these poolside drinks from Lee Harvey’s Dive In.

Living in Texas, there are some days where all it takes is one foot out your front door before you know you just can’t deal with the heat that day.

If that’s you today, we understand. Here are a few of our favorite ways to stay cool and beat that Texan heat.

Take a swim

There’s nothing quite as refreshing as your first jump into a pool on a hot day. Take a dip in the Texas Pool, Lee Harvey’s Dive-In, or one of these other watery oases.

Sip on a frozen treat

Staying cool can be delicious, too. Grab a snow cone from Waterboy, Mr. Sugar Rush, or Fruteria Tropical. For the adults who want a little extra kick, try boozy slushies from Daquiris to Go or the Daquiri Den.

Stay indoors

There are some days where A/C is the only answer. In which case, catch a movie, check out a museum, or hang out at an arcade.
