Celebrate Día de los Muertos with the city

The 5th Annual Dallas Dia de los Muertos Parade and Festival will take place at Dallas City Hall.

The celebration of life and death and the ancestors that watch over loved ones centers around the cultural holiday known as Dia de los Muertos.

The holiday is a two-day celebration that reunites the living and the dead as families create offerings to honor those who have died. Alters are typically decorated with photos of the loved one, symbolic items, and even food and drinks..

Traditionally celebrated on Nov. 2, the holiday is celebrated internationally, including right here in Dallas.

Dallas’ official Dia de los Muertos festival and parade will take place this Saturday, Oct. 26. This will be the fifth annual cultural celebration celebrated at the Dallas City Hall, 1500 Marilla St.

The festival will be from 2 to 10 pmwith a parade taking place from 7-8 pm which will start and end at the city hall. There will also be food, live music, and arts and crafts available at the festival. Tickets are on sale now.
