No rush, but eventually you’ll need to say goodbye to your Christmas tree. Here’s how to recycle and throw out your real tree.

Recycle

Let your tree return to the earth by recycling it. You have two options for drop off:

Know before you throw. All trees must be naked — remove tinsel, lights, tree stands, and all other decorations as they aren’t biodegradable.

Curbside disposal

Kick it to the curb. You may place your tree (and any other holiday waste) out for collection during the monthly brush and bulky item collection.

It won’t be recycled, but you can’t beat the convenience.
