Made in Dallas. Yep, that sure has a nice ring to it. From tech to snacks and other fun finds, we’ve rounded up 15 things home-grown in the Big D.

While some of these brands have branched out beyond our city, one thing’s for sure: there’s some major inspo happening around these parts.

Music

Singer Erykah Badu appeared on WFAA to talk about her birthday celebration at The Factory in Deep Ellum back in February.

Erykah Badu
The Neo-soul singer was born in South Dallas. The singer still has roots here in the Big D, with her home studio — Badiduo — located right here in Dallas. Badu considers the studio a sacred space.

Post Malone
Rapper turned folk singer, Post Malone grew up in Grapevine. The singer recently released his new country album, “F-Trillion”.

The Chicks
Former known as the Dixie Chicks, this American country trio created by Natalie Maines and sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer got its start in Dallas. The band later went on to become one of the most successful all-female band in country history.

Neiman Marcus
The luxury store giant was founded in 1907 by Abraham Lincoln “Al” Neiman, his wife, Carrie Marcus Neiman, and his brother-in-law, Herbert Marcus Sr.

7-Eleven
Founded in Oak Cliff, its chain of convenience stores can be found all over the world.

AT&T
The major telecommunications provider originally started as Bell Telephone by Alexander Graham Bell. As the third-leading telecommunications company, its headquarters moved to Dallas in 2008.

Tech

Texas Instruments (TI)
This semiconductor technology company is a pioneer in developing the first handheld calculator and continues to lead electronics innovation globally.

Perot Systems Corporation
Founded in Plano by Ross Perot, the IT services company provides services in healthcare, government, banking, and other fields.

Healthcare

Tenet Healthcare
Operating a vast network of hospitals and medical facilities, the healthcare company is now headquartered in Dallas by way of Los Angeles where it started in 1969.

Transportation

Southwest Airlines flight on the runway at Dallas Love Field

Southwest Airlines signed a deal with Archer Aviations, Inc. to expand travels to air taxis.

Known for its low-cost flights, free checked bags, and customer-friendly policies — its home base is at Love Field.

Drinks

Topo Chico
Founded in 1895, the popular sparkling mineral water brand is sourced in Monterrey, Mexico. However, its headquarters can be found in Plano, TX.

Deep Ellum Brewing Company
This brewing company has a fun founding date of 11/11/11 — Nov. 11, 2011, that is. It is one of the first craft breweries to open in Dallas.

Reinheitsgebot Brewing Co.
In 1993, the brewing company became the first microbrewery to open in Plano and the Southwest. The Reinheitsgebot Purity Law was decreed in 1516 and is still one of the oldest food and beverage regulations in the world — with some modifications.

Flecha Azul Tequila
Texans Abraham Ancer and Aron Marquez are responsible for the single-estate tequila drinks ranging from a blanco to an extra añejo tequila. The brand was first launched in 2020, with actor Mark Wahlberg joining as a principal investor in 2022.

Revolver Brewing
Raise a glass for this North Texas brewery which was founded on the outskirts of Dallas in Grandbury, TX. The brewery offers Saturday tours with tastings, live music and on-site food vendors.
