Joe V’s Smart Shop officially opened its Wheatland Road store in southern Dallas County this week.

This marks the first location outside of Houston for the chain, which is a discount shop from major Texas grocer H-E-B.

Wondering what you’ll find in the 55,000-sqft store? In addition to the products familiar to H-E-B customers, expect to see:

  • Texas-grown selections delivered daily
  • Fresh cut meat, chicken + seafood
  • A full bakery with store-made tortillas, pastries, and breads
  • Self-checkout lanes

The store will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

“We’re thrilled to open our first Joe V’s Smart Shop in Dallas, allowing us to serve more Texans with our commitment to quality and friendly customer service,” H-E-B Chief Operating Officer Roxanne Orsak said in a statement. . “Along with our dedicated partners, we are excited to provide this community an incredible shopping experience with an emphasis on offering the freshest products delivered daily at the lowest prices in the marketplace.”

In honor of the company’s grand opening, Joe V’s Smart Shop announced gifts that total $30,000 to area nonprofits, with $10,000 each going to support:

Last month, in anticipation of the store’s opening, Joe V’s Smart Shop also donated a vending machine with 500 free books to Dallas Independent School District’s McNair Elementary School.

Plans are also in the works to add a Joe V’s Smart Shop at 5204 S. Buckner Blvd. in Dallas, with an opening tentatively slotted for spring 2025.
