We receive hundreds of thank you notes and kind messages every week. | Gif by 6AM City
Every day, we write DALtoday with one goal: to help you feel more connected to your city. And we’re not alone — our friends across the US, from Seattle to Tampa Bay, do the same for our 6AM City communities.
We believe in the power of local media to keep the community informed, engaged, and excited about where they live. That’s why our newsletter is and will remain free.
How do we make it sustainable?
We partner with national brands and some of Dallas’ best organizations + businesses that support our mission of bringing only good news to your inbox. But we also rely on reader support.
We’re calling on you now to help support our mission with a donation.

We may not get much winter, but we can eat outdoors year-round. | Photo via Chelsea Corner
The Climate Prediction Center’s latest seasonal outlook is in: Dallas can expect a warmer and drier winter than usual. Now through February, temperatures are predicted to trend above average, while rainfall is expected to stay below normal.
Translation: Patio season might stick around a bit longer this year. Here are a couple of spots we recommend for soaking up some winter rays:
Chelsea Corner | The 2,500-sqft patio at this Highland Park spot is dog-friendly.
Taco y Vino | The “yard” at this restaurant converted from a house will make you feel right at home.
Smoky Rose | The aesthetic atmosphere at this joint near White Rock Lake goes even better with a $7 happy hour cocktail in hand.
