🏟️ Fanning the flames

DALtoday Sports Misery Index

Artificial intelligence is everywhere, especially in the sports world. And now we have a new system that can tally and rate how good, or how bad, you have it as a sports fan. Meet ESPN’s Sports Misery Index.

Naturally, we tested what it would be like to be an average Dallas fan.

“Let’s look at it this way: you’re not at rock bottom. There’s always a chance you could improve your fortunes in the coming years,” said the MiseryBot.

Ouch. The AI confirmed what many Cowboys, Wings, and FC Dallas fans have been feeling for years — things are tough. Conversely, Mavericks and Stars were rated among the best of their leagues, so maybe this is a glass-half-full situation.

If you love other teams, plug them into the system and let us know your score, especially if you beat ours.

The Wrap

We didn’t forget about you, Rangers fans. We wanted to focus solely on teams with “Dallas” in their name, but don’t worry — I ran a second scan to see the results. Anticlimactically, it was the same score, despite the Rangers’ 2023 World Series win.
