A new hotel with a rooftop pool is coming to Plano. Construction will begin on Oct. 15 on Miyako Hotel and is expected to be completed by 2027. The Japanese-themed spot also aims to be a hub for corporate conventions. (WFAA)

We’re adding Rollertown Beerworks, a new brewery planned for Frisco, to our must-do list. It’s supposed to open this October and it’s backed by some Texas powerhouses like Maverick great Dirk Nowitzki and the talented guys from Dude Perfect. (WFAA)
Sports
Get ready to spend Christmas huddled around the television. The NBA partially released the 2025-2026 season schedule, which has Dallas facing Golden State on Christmas Day. Other noteworthy games include the Mavericks on opening night, Oct. 21, at home hosting the San Antonio Spurs.
Cause
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is coming to AT&T Stadium and it needs some volunteers — nearly6,000, to be more specific. Help is needed in guest services, hospitality, fan operations, and much more. Those interested can apply today. (WFAA)

The idea of Dirk Nowitzki and the guys from Dude Perfect working together warms my early 2000s heart. I grew up mimicking Dirk’s signature fade away in the driveway for years. And Dude Perfect’s trick shot videos are some of the earliest clips I watched as a kid. Luckily, I don’t need either of their skills to down a few cold beers.
