Dinner is just a drone away. Your DoorDash order might soon be delivered by a flying robot, thanks to a partnership between the food delivery app and Flytrex. Following a successful pilot, the autonomous drones are now operational in Granbury, Little Elm, and Frisco. (Dallas Observer)

Biz

Deep Ellum’s Cheapsteaks shuttered over the weekend, but don’t fret. Co-owner Jeff Beihler plans to relaunch the concept under a new name, Dusty’s, and position the business as a music venue rather than a restaurant. Beihler hopes to open Dusty’s in a month. (Dallas Observer)

$3 million. That’s how much Fair Park recently secured to construct Community Park, a South Dallas project that has been in the making for over 50 years. Construction on the 10+ acre site is expected to begin in August. (KERANews)

Shop

Dallas is now home to a Walmart you can’t shop at. The company is testing “dark stores,” aka physical locations closed to the public that operate strictly to fulfill online orders. The Dallas site is part of a small rollout, with another location planned for Walmart’s hometown of Bentonville, Arkansas. (Retail Dive)
