We finally know one of the seven local restaurants that will be featured on the newest season of Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.” Hello Dumpling — the only Asian restaurant on the list of seven — will be featured on the episode “Dallas Dumplings, Florida Fried and Chi-Tacos.” The other restaurants are still a mystery. Outdoors
Ooh la la. Several local parks are getting a big financial boost from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission. The Marcus Recreation Center, Hooten Park in Caddo Mills, Trotter Park in Flower Mound, and Grapevine Settlers Park are all getting at least $750,000 for development of amenities like walking trails, playgrounds, and other renovations. Development
A $300 million development in Prosper is getting ready to move to the next stage of construction after a few minor delays. The mixed-use Prosper Arts District will soon see work begin on its infrastructure. The first phase — which includes a hotel, parking garage, and housing — is expected to be completed in 2027. Weather
Be careful in this rain, Dallas. While we’ve seen quite a bit of precipitation the last couple of days, we’re in the heaviest of that downfall through morning today. Be wary of localized flooding, hail, gusts of wind up to 60 mph, and long drive times. (WFAA)

Whew — a lot of new restaurants are opening up in the DFW area. If you need a round-up, check out Eater’s list of scrumptious bites you can now enjoy. Notable mentions include Kafi BBQ, Little Blue Bistro, and a new Easy Slider location. (Eater Dallas)

Dallas just wouldn’t be Dallas without its smokin’ hot BBQ scene.
We’ve rounded up a list of top-notch local barbecue spots (with all the fixins, to boot). Just make sure you get there nice and early — you know, before the good stuff sells out.
Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse, 2202 Inwood Rd. Billed as one of DFW’s oldest restaurants, this family-owned local staple has been around since 1910. Don’t miss the brisket seasoned with the “secret rub” and those World Famous Onion Rings.
Mesquite BBQ, 145 E. Davis St., Mesquite Family-owned and operated since 1959, Mesquite BBQ was established by Herbet Oyler, the inventor of the world-renowned Oyler rotisserie smoker pit. Try the sandwiches served on Texas toast, meat plates, and Stuffed Baked Potato.
Cattleack Barbeque, 13628 Gamma Rd. You know a BBQ spot is legit when it’s only open a few days a week. This hot spot is known for its plates, burnt ends, sandwiches, and meats by the pound and always finds its way into “best of” lists, including that time Texas Monthly named it the No. 6 BBQ spot in all of Texas.
We’ve already talked a lot about food today, but I’ve got one more headline for you. Nusr-Et, the steakhouse from the Instagram famous “Salt Bae” has closed its Dallas location.
While the restaurant’s other spots will remain open, a press release from the company said it plans to look at expanding to other cities instead.
