The busy holiday travel season is upon us, and we’ve got a little gift for you. If you’re flying via Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, we’ve created a guide that covers everything from parking + terminal upgrades, to nonstop flights. Smooth travels, friends.
What to know
According to DFW Airport, it takes ~10 minutes to get through security during off-peak hours and 30+ minutes during peak hours. Track the real-time lines.
Airport updates
The DFW Airport recently started construction on Terminal F — the first entirely new terminal to be built since 2005. Ooh la la. The new $1.6 billion space will cover 400,000 sqft with 15 gates and opportunities for future expansion.
It will not have check-in, security, or baggage claim, which will be located in a 100,000-sqft expansion of Terminal E. Passengers will access those services and then hop on the Skylink to get to their gates in Terminal F.
The project, slated for a 2027 completion date, is part of a larger ~$5 billion agreement with Fort Worth-based American Airlines that also includes the expansion of the Central Terminal Area and a “major reimagining” of Terminal C.
