Dallas’ historic Forest Theater just received an $8 million grant from the Dallas City Council to help with its renovations. The entire project will cost ~$81 million to complete and will include a restoration of the 500-seat theater and a 28,000-sqft expansion with another 175-seat black box theater. (WFAA)

McKinney National Airport, which currently serves private planes, may soon be getting an upgrade that brings in more commercial flights. After decades of back and forth on potential plans, work has finally begun on Trinity River park. The new plan includes a total of 250 acres of land between the Margaret McDermott Bridge and Ronald Kirk Bridge and will take several years to complete. Legacy
Local steakhouse legend Al Biernat has died at 69 after being diagnosed with ALS. Biernat spent 50 years working in restaurants and later opened his self-titled restaurant with his wife in 1998 which has hosted a grand line-up of celebrities like Tom Brady, Dr. Phil, and Jennifer Aniston.
