Dallas Mavs Foundation, NBA Cares team up to renovate East Dallas Boys & Girls Club | Boys & Girls Club
The Dallas Mavericks unveiled new renovations to the Boys & Girls Club of East Dallas, located in the historic 1855 East Dallas neighborhood Peak’s Addition, after Game 3 of the NBA Finals, according to WFAA.

The renovations were done in partnership with the Mavs Foundation, the Boys & Girls Club, and NBA Cares Finals Legacy Project. Mavs players Dereck Lively II, Daniel Gafford, PJ Washington, and Jaden Hardy were present to excite the kids and present them with the newly designed space.

Other guests participating in the unveiling included NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, NBA Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum, Dallas Mavs CEO Cynt Marshall, and Mavs announcer Mark Followill.

So, what’s in store for Dallas kids? The reveal of the newly renovated East Dallas Club includes:
  • A brand new gym
  • A state-of-the-art STEM lab
  • Updated furniture
  • New gaming areas, and more
During the unveiling, smaller celebrations including a digital scavenger hunt, a basketball clinic with pros, and drills took place inside the new club. Kids also had a chance to take pictures with the Mavs players.

The NBA Cares project, which aims to use social programs to improve circumstances for people worldwide, started in 2005.

During the winter, the Mavs teamed up with Raising Cane’s to give away 1500+ winter coats and jackets, and in early spring installed 50 new computer monitors at St. Anthony Academy.

For richer or pour over, Dallas’ coffee shops are what keep us going in the morning. In fact, Dallas ranks among the top coffee cities in America thanks to factors like cafes per capita and the price of beans.

The Big D has no shortage of masterful baristas, aromatic roasts, and foamy lattes. But if you’re having trouble deciding on a spot, gather some brews clues with our guide to some of the best coffee shops in Dallas.

    Roasts to boast

Cultivar Coffee Roasting Co., East Dallas | Enjoy the local, house-roasted coffee at Cultivar. Head to Goodfriend Package next door for a sandwich or enjoy a pastry at the coffee shop.

Native Coffee Co., Farmers Branch | Native Coffee Co. serves beans that come from a variety of carefully selected roasters + utilizes a Scandinavian roasting style in an effort to highlight all flavors of the coffee.
