Organized activities

Dallas Parks and Recreation offers its Active Senior Adult Programs, which give adults aged 60+ opportunities to get out in the city for recreational and leisure activities Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. From aerobics to arts and crafts, book clubs, and city day trips, there are various opportunities for fun.

Family fun

Retirement is best spent with family, especially when you have 35+ family-friendly activities right at your fingertips. Plus, you can keep those hard-earned retirement dollars in your pocket with free activities around Dallas.

  • Dallas-born actor Luke Wilson will be back on the big screen. He will play Ratliff in a new film titled, “You Gotta Believe” which follows the story of a youth baseball team. It’s being dubbed an emotional film so bring a few extra tissues to the theater when it premieres on Friday, Aug. 30. (WFAA)

Four Texas cities ranked inside the top 10 for best real estate markets in 2024

Texas is home to the top two real estate markets in 2024, according to WalletHub.

The online publication ranked the best real estate markets in the US, and McKinney was placed at No. 1 followed by Frisco at No. 2.

Additionally, the cities were ranked for their affordability and economic environment. Here, we saw Frisco ranked No. 1 and McKinney ranked No. 3.

Other Texas markets in the top 10 include Denton (No. 8) and Allen (No. 9). Allen also swooped into the top 10 for affordability, taking the No. 6 slot. Both cities took the top slots for the small market category as well.
