An exclusive interview: B. Simone comes home for first-ever headlining show

The comedian talked with DALtoday about headlining her first-ever show right here in her hometown.

Comedian B. Simone is making her way to Dallas for the first time in eight years as part of her first-ever headlining show at the Majestic Theater on Thursday, June 13.

Excited? So are we. Simone sat down with DALtoday to talk about what’s in store for her fans at her upcoming show.

Editor’s note: This interview has been lightly edited for clarity and brevity.

Who is B. Simone?

I stopped calling myself an influencer. I’m an impacter. There is a difference. I took my comedy from social media and now to this stage, I’m a stand-up comic from MTV VOD, and I do acting comedy. And I’m a serial entrepreneur. I start a new business at least once a year. I love entrepreneurship. And yeah, that’s like my baby. My businesses are my children.

I want to be like the female Jamie Foxx. Like, he does acting, he does music. He does comedy. He’s a businessman, but he’s taken seriously in every single category. You don’t just look at him as a comedian. He’s an all-well-rounded entertainer.

What’s been your experience with touring?

The best part about this homecoming show, number one, is that it’s my first headlining theater show.

What makes this show special is the fact that on the “Still Standing Comedy Tour,” most of my shows are comedy club shows. This [show in Dallas] is one big show. So I’m combining both worlds of the “Still Standing Comedy Tour” at the beginning, but my podcast, “Let’s Try This Again” podcast will be the second half of the show.

We have surprise guests coming out, we’ll have a panel, and we’ll do giveaways. I’m just super excited to be doing this in my hometown where I’m from, where all my roots started here in Dallas, Texas. I am going to make history for myself and do it really, really big.

“I’m super excited to be back home where my life started. This is such a full circle moment, and I couldn’t be more proud of myself for my resilience,” says B. Simone.

What can fans expect at your show?

It’s going to be more of a well-rounded show, not just comedy. But you might laugh, you might cry, you might heal, [or] you might have a revelation. But it’s going to combine both worlds. And I’ve never done that.

Where do you like to eat when you come to Dallas?

My friend just opened up a restaurant. Cafe Nubia, we went there and the food was banging! I ordered everything.

Any final words for your fans?

Thank you so much, Dallas! I will see you guys June 13. Thursday at the Majestic Theater.
